As many of my close friends tell me, I have a little bit of an Eye Shadow Palette addiction (despite not wearing eye shadow enough!). This year I have been working on wearing eyeshadow on an everyday and not just going to Naked2 every time. So when I saw this Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry Eye Shadow Palette, I had to pick it up! I adored the pigmentation of the Modern Renaissance palette, but Sultry just seemed to have a better range of shades for everyday looks.

How To Use
Use your choice of brush (or finger) to gently apply product to eyelids.
A little goes a long way with these shadows, so be gentle when picking up prodict on brush.
Use a blending brush to transition shades together to create more depth.
First Thoughts
As with most of ABH’s palettes, Sultry comes with 14 shades in simple palette with a mirror and a brush. I find their packaging to be quite sturdy – the modern renaissance one has survived multiple house moves and travel. The Sultry palette feels very similar but with a glittery front that fortunately does not shed all over your hands.
I actually really like the brushes these palettes come with too – they’re good for applying and blending, plus helpful if you’re travelling.
After Use
Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry Eye Shadow Palette contains products with great pigmentation, very similar to their previous palettes. Each of the shades are rich and deep once applied to your eyes, and even the glitters were fantastic. With this palette you get half velvety matte shades and half smooth glittery metallics in neutral tones.
Half the shades containing glitter can be quite worrying for fall out issues. Whilst I did get some fall out why applying, a quick wipe over with a tissue helped clear it straight away. I also worried that too many glitters may make it harder for this palette to wear everyday. However, I had a quick change of heart once I realised how good these shades looked on, and quickly incorporated them into everyday looks. For more details on shades, see the swatches and overview further down this page.
The matte shades are semi-sheer but are easily buildable work well for blending and transitioning. The metallic shades are opaque and extremely pigmented in both glitter and colour. Each of these is super easy to use as well as blend with other shades.
One thing I would say is that this palette doesn’t feel “cool toned” as it was sold by ABH. Yes, it’s not as bright and pink as Modern Renaissance – but most of these shades have pink or gold undertones which border closer to a neutral. If you need a true cool toned palette, the Urban Decay Smokey palette may work better.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry Eye Shadow Palette overall is a great palette if you want a bit more metallic in your life.

Would I Re-Purchase Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry Eye Shadow Palette?
I think if it ever got to the point where I’d used a palette enough to have a reason to buy a new one, I would! I don’t know if this will be something I only use for a couple of months or not at this point, but it is looking good as I’ve been wearing it every time I’ve done my makeup in lockdown!
