Autumn Term Haul

A new term in Newcastle brings new adventures and the autumnal northern weather in full force. Whilst not freezing just yet, there’s a need to prepare for less than warm weather, wind and rain. I’ve spent the summer months working and trying to save up money for during university, but also decided that I needed to treat myself. Since I am a student, I also tried to pick some basic pieces that I can wear throughout the year although this is called a ‘Autumn Term Haul’.

Photo of three jackets - first is a biker leather jacket with collar, second is a floral silk-like bomber jacket and third is a collarless leather jacket. All flatlayed.

First things first is jackets, jackets and another jacket? I bought two (yes two!) leather jackets from ASOS. One is a biker jacket and the other is a collarless leather jacket. Both faux of course. The first one I found was the biker jacket which was £40 and I fell in love because I really needed a new leather jacket. But then I found the collarless one which was on sale for £11, and the deal was just too good to miss as it looks way better than the £11 price tag. Talk about two buses coming along at once?

I also got an amazing floral bomber jacket which had been on my wish list from River Island. It’s a super easy addition to an autumn wardrobe during the temperamental weather changes, and it was just so pretty. Unfortunately it’s now out of stock.

photo of clothes bought - includes 3 vests, one in black, grey and white; black bodysuit with black floral/lace at the top; black vest with side tie; white sleeveless shirt; and an off white off the shoulder jumper with distressed edges.

I wasn’t kidding with basics as I bought three basic ASOS vests to help keep me warm in the coming months. I find these super easy to fit under other tops to help keep me insulated, even if I feel like I’m reverting to childhood! Also there’s the cute black bodysuit with some floral detailing at the top from Miss Selfridge which would look perfect for nights out or to go under lower cut tops for some detailing. I’m a sucker for cute strappy tops at the moment clearly because I also got the one that is tied at the side from River Island.

I also got a couple of jumpers due to the cold, but not too big in case there’s a warm day. The first is the flared sleeved crop jump which works well with my high waisted skirts, whilst still keeping me fairly warm. I like how it has a high-ish neck as well, although I am usually bad with white coloured clothes so we’ll see how long it is until I get food down it! There’s also the distressed off the shoulder jumper! I thought this would be cute for lazy days as it’s comfy and slouchy. But I also got a smart top in the form of a sleeveless white shirt with scalloped edges. Which I thought would work well under jumpers to make me look more professional for the office!

The reason why I wanted and bought so many tops was because I was struggling with the ones I owned. I wasn’t quite pulling outfits together and I was just wearing the same things over and over again.

Last but not least comes accessories! I was super excited to try out the Secret Sales website… although I was disappointed as they have awful customer service. The Carvela loafers and handbag were both on sale and so it was a treat yourself moment. I also bought some extra belts from ASOS to help pull together some of my outfits and I keep seeming to lose mine when moving for uni!

  1. The bomber jacket looks fabulous, and so does everything else of course but I’m loving bomber jackets this season so. Whether its clothes haul or beauty haul, I’m interested to read about any. Just keep them coming! x
