Body Shop Face Mask Reviews | Using Multiple Face Masks for Better Skincare

The increasing trend of using different masks for different areas of the face really interested me. Here’s my Body Shop face mask collection which I’ve started to test in combination with each other. My aim was to pick up masks that would work for different skin problems. I have combination skin, I break out a lot and I also suffer from eczema on my face. This means that I have to be really reactive in my skincare routine to alleviate any issues.

Aloe Soothing Rescue Cream Mask

Due to my extremely dry eczema, I love a product that is really hydrating yet calming for my skin. The Aloe mask is a perfect choice to give my skin a moisture boost, and because of the antiseptic properties of aloe vera it also assists with healing and soothing. I find that my eczema patches are a lot easier to maintain when I’m using this mask as it can form a barrier from irritants while in use.

I was slightly sceptical at first as it’s an overnight mask. I’m always worried that these will mess up my bed sheets or get in my hair during the night. So I used this as a ‘day’ mask where I would apply on my days off for a long period of time. This made me see it actually dried fairly quickly, and I could go about my day without risk of smudging it off. So now I do actually use this as a night mask when I’m not using it alongside the other two when my skin is feeling overly dry.

I find that it works well alongside the other two as it’s the best one for my eczema patches and it forms a barrier which allows me to be slightly messy with the other two. I apply this one first, and then the other masks can’t irritate my patches. This mask is usually the one that washes away the most easily, but I do tend to use this on it’s own as well.

Seaweed Oil Balancing Clay Mask

With an oily T-zone I’m always trying to find products that can reduce oiliness, and also assist with reducing my blackheads. This is where the Seaweed mask comes in. As it’s a clay mask, it’s great for clearing up impurities, and is my usual go to when I’m having a bad breakout or I’m feeling overly oily.

When using alongside other masks I usually stick to my nose, cheeks and between my brows with this mask. I also sometimes apply some to my chin, and usually over any large under the skin spots I may have.

This mask is the fastest drying mask and so I usually apply this last so it doesn’t stay on my face too long after drying. Although I do also use this on it’s own if my skin is overly problematic or if I’m having a lot of hormonal break outs.

Honey & Oat 3-in-1 Moisturising Scrub Mask

The Honey & Oat mask is my ‘everywhere else’ kind of mask. It works on the parts of my face that aren’t super oily but also aren’t eczema prone as it both moisturises and exfoliates. Plus, when you go to rinse your face you can use the oat parts to exfoliate the rest of your face as you wash the other masks off.

With the honey this mask is still hydrating for the skin, but not intensively and so it works on areas that need a bit of TLC but also aren’t too oily. My main praise for this is the after rinsing as it does double as an exfoliator and this works great for any dry patches or blackheads without being too abrasive.

I don’t use this one on it’s own as much as the other two. This is just because it doesn’t fully alleviate any one problem for my skin, and I would need to use different products afterwards to gain similar results to the other two masks. I do however, sometimes use this just as an exfoliator, and I use this one the most if I have break outs on my back, shoulders or chest.
