As I have quite pale skin I was quite excited to test out this new blush from Clinique from my advent calendar. I’m always slightly worried of using too bright colours as they’re so obvious against my complexion, and so this more coral colour was a lucky dip from the calendar.
My initial worry was that this colour looks really pink in the packaging. But as soon as you apply it’s a much subtler and lighter colour which you can gradually build up. This means I can use this for my everyday work makeup which is very natural, but I can then add a spot more of colour for an evening look.
The powder really glides on with the brush that I also got from Clinique. It’s very soft coverage and doesn’t cake on like some powders do. It’s not too pigmented so you don’t accidentally look like a clown, but it’s just pigmented enough that you get the soft colour you’re looking for from a blush.
The slight gold shimmer really helps to make your skin look highlighted, without making it look oily or too sheeny. The overall look is a healthy colour to your cheeks, which I always need after using a full coverage foundation.
I also found it was blendable, as I often will use my Benefit’s Hello Flawless powder as my base. The powder works just as well on different types of foundation as doesn’t seem to lose it’s colour over the day. (Unless I’m spending the day head in my hands because I’m tired of course!)
As my sample has lasted this long and is so versatile I think it’s really good value for money. I will be purchasing this blush once I’ve used all of this one, even though I don’t think it will be for a while.
