Clinique 3 Step Skincare Review | Using the Introductory Kit Uncovered Clear and Radiant Skin

So I haven’t done a beauty based post in such a long time. With exams and moving down to Guildford I’ve just been so busy that I haven’t really tried any new products. But during my exams I had to go to one of the stall-like events on campus because of my society commitments. This is when I picked up these cute Clinique sample’s.

They came within a small makeup bag and also a box. Both have been misplaced with the move so I didn’t get photos. I got these samples in exchange for booking an appointment with the beauty counter in Boots.

This is the Dry Combination 3 Step Kit from Clinique. They do different ‘clarifying lotions’ for different skin types within the 3 step programme.

First is the Liquid Facial Soap. This was strange for me because I don’t usually use a water and soap product on my face twice a day. I normally use it every other day, because I find products that soap/foam up can often feel harsh on my sensitive skin. Luckily, this facial wash was really good on my skin. My skin felt clean but not too dry which is sometimes a problem.

Next is the Clarifying Lotion, which is a toner. The smell is so strong, it shocked me when I first opened it. It smells like an alcoholic drink but I just can’t put my finger on what exactly it is. I again was really worried it would be too harsh. The lotion works like any other toner and makes your skin feel really smooth and clean. It is slightly drying, but nothing major. My eczema didn’t flare up which it sometimes does with a drying product.

Finally there’s the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. This works exactly like any other moisturiser. My skin didn’t feel much different from this moisturiser. But I was using Clarin’s Hydraquench lotion previously.

Using all three products definitely made my skin feel cleaner and clearer. It was during exams so hormonal breakouts were occurring. But my spots visibly reduced a lot faster than usual. I would probably re-purchase the toner when I finish the sample. But because of the high price I cant justify purchasing all three products.
