Ingredient Benefits

Lanolin and related ingredients moisturise the skin, hair and nails. It acts as a lubricant on the skin surface, which gives the skin a soft, smooth appearance. Lanolin helps to form emulsions and blends well with nearly all other substances used in cosmetics and personal care products.

Vitamin E is a naturally occuring antioxidant which is used in skincare products. It is a skin conditioning agent which helps reduce inflammation and rebuild skin cells.

Dermosoft® decalact is a powerful antimicrobial proven to eliminate the Trichophyton species of fungus. It is 100% natural and ECOCERT registered.

Olus oil has excellent emollient and occlusive effects, moisturising the skin whilst acting as a barrier to moisture loss.

Collodial oatmeal is used widely to help relieve dry skin, eczema, psoriasis, acne, sunburn and other minor skin irritations. It has anti-itch properties to bring soothing comfort to irritated skin.

Lactic acid belongs to a family of acids called alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs). It is extremely effective in treating hard, thickened skin as it gently breaks down the ‘glue like’ bonds between cells in the upper layer of the skin and triggers repair. This helps the hardened skin cells to fall off and helps the skin keep more water in, softening and improve the appearance of hard, callused skin. The action of lactic acid also improves the ability of the urea to penetrate the skin and rehydrate it.

Thuja occidentalis, commonly known as Arbor vitae or “Tree of Life” has been used for centuries as a medicinal and has been proven to have powerful antiviral and antifungal properties.

Urea penetrates and increases the moisture-binding capacity of the cells causing them to swell and reducing the cracks between the cells. Urea also has a keratolytic action, which means that it softens the cells in the surface layers and loosens them, enabling them to be shed more easily.

How To Use

Use daily and massage over feet. Use when you have time for your skin to soak the product in, rather than immediately before putting socks and shoes on.

Step in Skincare Routine

  1. Use balm after showering and/or before you get into bed so it has time to soak in

First Thoughts

The first thing I thought when I opened this balm was that the consistency was so strange! I know it says balm, but I still expected a thick body butter kind of product, but no it’s a thick clear balm. Because of the thickness of the product I also thought I’d need to use a lot of product, but it actually spreads really easily so a little goes a long way.

During Use

When using the balm it feels instantly moisturising, but also like it’s forming a moisturising barrier on your skin. Unfortunately it does take it’s time to sink in (meaning you can’t do anything for a while!) BUT it does seem to be working. I used the balm on my worst areas the most, and it seemed to soften them. This worked extra well when I used a foot file too.

After Use

This defintely helped my dry and calloused patches by softening and moisturising the skin. I know after I shower my skin was at it’s best so I often used it then and jumped into bed to keep it on overnight. I found this really helped to keep my skin looking and feeling great – although it didn’t catch every dry part. I think this is natural though as I am on my feet so much.

It did take a few weeks and using it multiple times. I’d say I used it every other day and also used the mist and treatment gel on top of that. It defintely took a combination of things, but I do believe this balm helped the most.

Would I Re-Purchase?

As you can see, my feet have “heeled” up from dryness a lot. There’s a tough patch on my toe although this may still reduce in time. Because of this I think re-purchasing would be a good decision for me, especially to help prevent the heel area from cracking.

  1. I have tough feet and can never get those calluses, especially at the back of the heel and on the first toe fully off, so I love the looks of this routine!
