On an everyday basis I can get quite lazy with my nails – often not having any colour on at all. I started getting acrylics a couple of years ago, which I loved having but just can’t justify getting every few weeks right now. So instead, I tried picking up a nude nail polish which works with multiple outfits and doesn’t disappear after two days. This is where Essie’s Lady Like Polish comes in to save the day.

First Thoughts
When I was looking through colours, I picked up Lady Like because it’s very similar to the colour I would get for acrylics. With my wardrobe (which is very black with random bursts of colour) this neutral but slightly pink colour goes with everything. Plus, I personally find that my nails/fingers look longer when and more feminine with this kind of shade.
I’ve heard a lot about Essie in the past and how good their formula’s are. Plus, I’d been told it lasts for a good amount of time – which is perfect for someone like me who only wants to paint her nails once a week at most.
During Use
When I started using the nail polish I thought the colour was very sheer on first application. I ended up having 3 coats of polish before being happy with the colour. I do this with most polishes, but I do think it was more needed for this particular shade. After three coats, the shade was very similar to the outside of the bottle which was great.
I loved the colour immediately after applying it and it was exactly what I was looking for. If you’re very pale skinned like me, I think this is one of those perfect nudes you sometimes struggle to find. The pink tone is quite dusty, so it’s not too dark but it’s also not completely neutral. It made me feel just that extra bit girly without having bright pink or baby pink.
The brush and product were really easy to use. Even my right hand seemed to look very good as the brush is so easy to work with. It’s a small bruhs which is flat-ish on either side, allowing fast application without too much spill over when trying to get to the edges.
After Use
I applied the Lady Like polish on Sunday and I fully removed it on the Saturday. I did have a couple of touch ups on my right hand (my dominant hand!) on the Wednesday. However, Essie’s polish stayed really strong throughout the week and I think the couple of chips I had were from washing up and water mainly.
After removing my nails looked and felt just as healthy as before – I don’t think Essie’s formula is harmful or drying to your nails at all. Despite this, I do normally give my nails some ‘breathing days’ over the weekend, especially if I have no plans to help my nails be healthier in general.
Would I Re-Purchase?
I would definitely re-purchase Essie’s Lady Like as I just adore the colour and the formula fits my life pretty well as it lasts longer than usual.
