Joan Collins Women Dry Oil Body Polish Review | At Home Spa Treatment for Bright, Smooth Skin

Winter is upon us and that (for me at least) means dry and irritated skin.  Having a good body polish around is vital to keep skin looking healthy and revitalised. So I tried Joan Collins Time Beauty I AM WOMAN Dry Oil Body Polish to make my skin look summer ready again.

Main ingredients and their benefits

Himalayan Salts is what you usually find as part of bath salts because of it’s ‘rejuvenating’ properties. The main use in this scrub is to exfoliate and soften the skin as well as detoxifying it, allowing your skin to feel clean and prevent breakouts. The salt also works as an antiseptic and so helps with acne and also when used gently can help clear up eczema that is prone to weeping.

Kiwi Seeds act as a large exfoliant in this scrub on top of the oil from these seeds having high concentrations of Omega 3 fatty acids. This helps to maintain the moisture in the skin.

Avocado, Olive and Jojoba Oils all help to moisturise the skin. Avocado oil contains Omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants that help maintain moisture and keep skin from looking dull. Olive oil contains vitamin A and E and helps with aging skin as well as dry and eczema prone skin. Jojoba oil is naturally similar to human sebum and therefore helps regulate oil production for oilier skin.

First Thoughts

This body polish comes in a glass jar and has a really lovely design on it. It was also surprisingly heavy, although this was the jar rather than the product. As you can see in the photo above, you get a lot of polish in this. It reaches right to the top, unlike some products which leave a lot of room.

My first thought when opening it was that it looks really dry and like it would feel rough on the skin. My second was that it smells really nice. And the third was I really need to jump in the shower and give it a try.

During Use

You use it on damp skin, so I was using it during my showers for the past couple of weeks. When scooping it out, it does crumble a lot and goes everywhere. I was also worried about too much water getting into the tub while in the shower.

When rubbing it into your skin, it doesn’t feel as rough as I expected from looking at it. It does feel like a scrub though, the salt doesn’t just dissolve into the water. You also don’t need a lot. A few scoops was enough to scrub my legs and arms which is where I get dry patches.

After Use

After the first time of using I wouldn’t say it was a miracle worker. My skin however did feel softer after multiple uses. I was using it every other day and my dry patches ended up clearing up quite a bit. Although with to eczema, it definitely wasn’t a cure, it just alleviated some symptoms.

It’s also good for sensitive skin, and works well before shaving. I didn’t have any kind of bad reaction. This works especially well for me as I’m always worried of shaving rash and eczema flare ups with new products.

Would I Use Again?

Yes I probably would use this again. For £18 the amount you get is a good value for money. With the amount I am using, I think this will last me well into January, but it’s something I would think of purchasing next autumn to alleviate dry skin before it becomes a bigger issue. I probably wouldn’t purchase within the summer months as I wouldn’t use it quite as much.

I received I AM WOMAN – Dry Oil Body Polish in return for a review. This is an unbiased and honest review.
