Benefit Beauty Boxes Review | Let’s Compare 3 of Benefits Beauty Kits To See If They’re Up To Scratch | 2016

Last year I was lucky enough to get three of Benefits beauty kits for Christmas! As you can tell I love Benefit products but I thought I’d go through what I thought of each of these kits and whether they’re worth buying.

The first box is Operation: Pore-proof! which contains:

  • Shy beam nude pink highlighter mini
  • The POREfessional pore minimising balm mini
  • Dr Feelgood complexion balm mini
  • The POREfessional Agent Zero Shine mini
  • The POREfessional license to blot mini

As someone who has oily skin at times, this kit was great as I could try out all these products which help make my skin matte. After loving the Porefessional Primer, and as you know I’ve bought a full sized version since! I also really liked Agent Zero Shine as it worked well over the rest of my makeup as a quick touch up. I never got on with the license to blot mini as it’s in stick form and felt like it was pulling makeup off when using it on top of foundation, yet I always forgot to try using it underneath. I favour other highlighters over Shybeam although it works well, it was just a bit too pink for me as a highlighter. Dr Feelgood complexion balm was strange, it not only looks a lot older than Benefits other products, the balm texture felt strange on my skin and has been left alone after first use.

The Life of the Party kit is no longer available to buy online, but there’s other versions on the Benefit website for just lips or eyes! This kit came with Porefessional as well (Benefits top product!) bu also came with blush, eyeshadows, Benetint and they’re real! mascara. Since I’ve already got Porefessional, They’re real! and Benetint this was my least used kit. I often forgot about the built in eye shadows and blusher as I couldn’t remove them from the box. I think it would have been better if Benefit had built packaging similar to it’s advent calendar for these products.

The how to look the best at everything in shade light was great as I could test different foundations! I’ve currently purchased a full sized Hello Flawless powder as I loved it so much from this kit. Hello Flawless liquid foundation was too dark and so I was able to choose the Big Easy foundation instead which matches my skin tone much better. The concealer was barely used as I usually use a stick rather than a cream, and I found the darker shade to be way too orange for me anyway.

Overall I found the kits to be fantastic for someone who wanted to try lots of different benefit products, and often they lasted a long time due to the fact it was one of uses every now and then. I probably wouldn’t repurchase but they’re great for gifts for people new to the Benefit brand.
