As Black Friday rolled around in November I was all ready to start purchasing all my Christmas presents. And that’s when it went all downhill. Most of my family are easy and I can purchase from Amazon, but Mum wanted specific skincare products and I fell into Cult Beauty, Beauty Bay and LookFantastic.
I managed to get quite a few skincare and beauty products for myself (a pre-christmas gift you could say…). Many of the products are from brands I’ve wanted to try for a while, whilst others are from brands I already use and love.
REN Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk
First up is the REN Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk. I’ve been wanting to try new a new cleanser – and this looked perfect for me. Full of hydrating ingredients which could help my dry patches, and it’s meant to be gentle for sensitive skin.
I haven’t actually tried it yet because of a hectic holiday season – but I’m very excited to!
Avène Tolérance Extrême Emulsion
Next up was a new moisturiser, Avène Tolérance Extrême Emulsion. I’ve went back to using the Clarin‘s one for winter and found that my skin hasn’t got on with it this year. So I opted for an Avène one due to the reputation. I found that on first use my face already felt smoother and hydrated after using. Which means I’m happy to change up my routine for it.
The INKEY List Kaolin Mask
I’m always a sucker for a good face mask and this was another one I wanted to try. I’ve never tried any of Inkey List’s products, but any masks with Clay in them have been really good for my spot prone skin. Plus, it was really affordable and serves as (hopefully) a good intro to the brand.
Sukin Blemish Control Spot Banishing Gel
Talking about spot prone skin… I picked up another spot gel. I’ve tried plenty before, from the basic witch hazel stick we all had from Boots at 13, to more expensive La Roche Posay ones. But this one is both cheaper but packed with natural ingredients meant to be good for your skin.
I quickly used this on a spot before Christmas and it helped to calm it right down in a couple of days! So I’m so ready for any more spots to appear so I can zap them away.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Skinny Brow Pencil
I needed to replace my last eyebrow pencil as it was running low – and so I bought this Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Skinny Brow Pencil. I previously had the definer version, which is a bit thicker, but I love having a pencil which is AUBURN and actually matches my hair colour. So I bought the thinner version from LookFantastic to see if I could make my brows look a bit more natural too.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry Eye Shadow Palette
My name’s Becky and I’m an eye shadow palette-aholic.
Yes I bought the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry Eye Shadow Palette – and yes I already have too many eye shadow palettes in my cupboard. Something I want to do more in the new year is wear more eye shadow – and mix it up a bit with my make up. The Sultry palette is fab as it’s got so many glitter shades – which work with the other palettes I already have.
So in conclusion – the purchase was justified… and I blame LookFantastic for enticing me.
Benefit Hello Happy Velvet Powder Foundation
My go to powder foundation has always been the Benefit Hello Flawless foundation so when I found out it was discontinued I was distraught. But then I found out that Benefit came out with Benefit Hello Happy Velvet Powder Foundation (which looks like a total rebrand right?!?). I bought it to test whether it’s like the old one, and as good a formula.
Real Techniques Make Up Brushes
I also bought a whole new set of make up brushed from Real Techniques because mine were getting pretty old. I chose Real Techniques because they were a middle of the road price range – and I know they’re a decent quality already.
