I love finding makeup products that are a little different and the Love of Colour One & Done Shadow Stick is different to most items in my makeup bag. So funny story, I actually believed that this was a lip pencil for months before using it. I then tried using it, and realised that it was in fact an eyeshadow pencil!

How To Use
Swipe the shadow pencil across your eyelids gently.
You only have around 15-30 seconds to blend and layer with other shadows to created your desired look.
You can apply it all over your eyelid, along your lash line as a liner, or in the corner of your eyes to highlight.
First Thoughts
So… after thinking this was a lip pencil (the colour actually looked pretty good) I noticed how DRY it was I realised my mistake. Weirdly enough – this mistake really showed off the shimmer and colour of of the product which I did really love. Get me this in lipstick form ASAP!
Luckily when applying to your eyelids, it didn’t feel as dry as when on your lips, mainly down to different skin types on these areas. The formula itself feels a lot creamier when using it. This is brilliant as some shadow sticks can feel more like charcoal which can also irritate the sensitive skin.
LOC is a creation by BirchBox and isn’t their first venture into creating makeup. This is in shade Peachy Sheen and is very similar to the pinks and corals I’ve been using recently which is exciting. It is the first product I’ve used from them, however I’ve heard good things about their own brands as well as the subscription.
My main worry for any pencil is whether after sharpening it will become rough, or cause sharp edges. I can’t say for certain, but looking closely at the opening of the pencil makes me believe this won’t be the case. The product seems to be well made, with packaging which would be smooth when sharpening, as long as the sharpener works well.
After Use
Once applying Love of Colour One & Done Shadow Stick it feels slightly tacky. It made the crease of my eye feel like it was sticking everytime I blinked which was really annoying. I’m thinking a transparent powder may help the tackiness.
In the “how-to” it does say you have approx 30 seconds to blend other eyeshadow with it, however I’m not sure how well it would blend with this formula.I’m also dubious about the 30 seconds and how well it work over another shadow – both of which I’ve not tried because quite honestly I didn’t like the product on my face.
What I would say is that it is a gorgeous shade. The colour is a pink peachy colour which has a lot of shimmer and shine to it. This is arguably similar to what I already have from the HUDA Beauty Coral Obsessions palette and a Smashbox Palette. However, it’s a touch lighter and more nude which makes for a more “natural” makeup look. As you can see in the photo, it’s not too bright or in your face.
On top of all this, the formula makes it hard to remove at the end of the day. This is kind of good if you want an all-day look, and helps reduce product breakdown at the crease – however the extra wiping of my eyes to try and remove it felt like I was irritating my skin.
Would I Re-Purchase Love of Colour One & Done Shadow Stick?
No. If you couldn’t tell from the rest of my review, I just didn’t enjoy the formula for my eyes and it’s not for me. If you like creamier eyeshadows though, I’d say try it out!
But I would love this shade in a lipstick!
