Lumene Nordic-C Glow Reveal Peeling Mask Review | Head Into Spring With Glowing Skin

So as we’re heading into the Spring months it’s still freezing in a predictable British way. My skin hates the cold (it also hates the heat but for different reasons… I’m a very typical British Ginger) and so it has been suffering with dryness and flakiness too. I’m normally using exfoliators, but I unfortunately ran out of my favourite one and couldn’t afford to re-purchase. After rummaging through my testers and gifted products I found this Lumene Nordic-C Glow Reveal Peeling Mask – which sounded like it would help.

First Thoughts

With the amount of ingredients with hydrating properties, I was excited to try a mask that would be both hydrating and good at shedding dead skin cells. Vitamin C is usually good for my skin, and I already use a Vitamin C exfoliator most weeks so thought I could swap this in to try it out.

Instantly, the smell caught my attention. It’s citrus but not too overpowering. Perfect for something you’ll have on your face for ten minutes. Additionally, it doesn’t smell overly chemical/lab like – which helps me believe in all the natural ingredients talked about on the list (even though chemicals are obviously in it!).

Just to note – it’s not a a peel off mask. The product formula is built to chemically exfoliate your skin whilst you wait, and then the dead skin cells ‘peel’ away once you rinse off.

During Use

When apply the Lumene Nordic-C Glow Reveal Peeling Mask you don’t really feel anything. It’s a light product and it sits on your skin easily, but there’s no tingling or feeling it hardening like other masks. It worrying-ly felt like it wasn’t doing anything, especially as it’s supposed to peel dead skin off. (spoilers: it’s fine it does work!)

The application was super easy as the formula is water based. There’s no rush to apply before it hardens and a little bit does seem to go a long way. The tube I have isn’t a whole one, but I feel like this could last months if you’re using it once a week.

Luckily it also did not cause any redness. Soem rpoducts with Vitamin C and acids can cause my skin to get very red, but this product contains quite a few calming ingredients. I think this really helped to keep the skin soothed and hydrated.

After Use

After rinsing the product off fully my skin defintely felt better for it. It felt smooth but also hydrated – which is great! The mask isn’t drying which is so helpful if you’re trying to get rid of dry patches. I personally wasn’t in a bad place for dry patches when I used it, but I feel like it would help and I’ll try again if I do get some.

My skin felt clean after use as well. I’m unsure of how much dead skin really got peeled away but my skin felt fresh and looked really good. I wouldn’t say I was glowing but it definitely helped.

On top of this, the tube and cap are made out of plastic and are recyclable if facilities are available in your area. Plus, the sluminium foil seal on the tube is metal and can be recycled, again if facilities are available.

Would I Re-Purchase?

For approx. £17 I would probably pick this up again if I was looking for a good hyrdrating mask. It really depends as to whether I need one for spots and breakouts or hydration. I feel like it works well and it’s good value for money as you only need to use a small amount.
