“Grease Lightning is a powerful combination of ingredients that will nip any breakouts in the bud without upsetting the skin around them. We use an infusion of antibacterial and antiseptic rosemary, thyme and tea tree, as well as antioxidant-rich grape juice and witch hazel, which is astringent and anti-inflammatory and is said to soothe redness. This product is ideally applied when you feel a spot is about to erupt – prevention is better than cure. “
I bought the Grease Lightning spot treatment because one I break out often and fairly badly and two the name made this particular spot treatment irresistible. I’ve used multiple treatments throughout the years using tea tree and witch hazel and they have all worked particularly well to shrink and get rid of spots and so Grease Lightning worked exactly how expected.
The gel like substance sinks straight into your skin leaving skin to feel smooth without tightness or irritation. It works as if to dry the spot but the skin around the offender is not affected. As a pump bottle it works well to not use too much, but unfortunately the bottle isn’t very strong and when moving from my flat the nozzle got snapped off and so it’s much harder to use now.
The best part about this product is not only does it work, but I can use it daily or multiple times a day to try and soothe and dry a pimple without irritation to the rest of my face. A true god send to anyone with sensitive yet break out prone skin!

Lush Grease Lighting sounds like a miracle product for Acne! But does it need to put in the fridge like Lush’s face masks? and does it expire?
I love Lush! I find it’s such good value for money and worth it for better skin too. Haven’t tried grease lighting before. Might see what it is like when I visit a store.
What does Lush Grease Lightning actually do to help spots? Can it dry out the skin, or does it do something else??
Thanks for the good review! Will ask for a tester when I next visit Lush.
Great review! Do you know what other Lush products are good for acne?
I love using tea tree in my skincare – but does this irritate at all?
Thanks for your review. I’ve not tried many spot gels but may give this a go
