Sukin Blemish Control Spot Banishing Gel Review

What do you do when you get a huge spot right in the middle of your face at the worst possible? For the past few months I’ve been trying out the Sukin Blemish Control Spot Banishing Gel for all my pesky pimples and it’s been working well. If you need a spot gone in a matter of days, without scabbing or dryness then this is a great product for you – although it’s not a miracle worker to get rid of spots in mere hours (although how great would that be?).

First Thoughts

First up let’s talk about the packaging. It comes in a pretty sturdy tube, with a small head where the product comes out. This means it’s much cleaner than other wand-brush heads as it should only come into contact with clean hands or cotton buds. The tube is also tough, and it’s easy to drop this in your travel bag or handbag and not worry about it tearing or spilling anywhere.

I originally picked Sukin Blemish Control Spot Banishing Gel up because I saw that it includes eucalyptus, tea tree, lavender and peppermint in it’s ingredients list. These all have been in other spot treatment products I’ve used in the past and have a mix of different properties to help.

These along with other ingredients in the gel help clean the spot, reduce irriataion, promote skin re-growth and healing, and moisturise the surrounding area. All perfect for a spot cream which helps heal up spots quickly, without damaging or irritating the skin.

During Use

The Sukin Blemish Control Spot Banishing Gel is super easy to apply, and a little goes a long way. You only need the smallest amount to dab onto a couple of spots and you’re done. The product doesn’t make your skin feel anything (it doesn’t sting like some products!) which is good for more sensitive skin and those that need a more gentle product.

After applying the gel dries up quickly so you can move on with the next step in your routine. It doesn’t seem to leave a layer of product, but sinks into the spot and acts similarly to a moisturiser. I personally use this after toner but before moisturiser, but the package does say it can be applied after as well. It’s also a handy size for applying throughout the day if you don’t wear foundation.

After Use

I find that with most large spots, and I mean those painful under the skin ones, that using the Sukin Blemish Control Spot Banishing Gel helps reduce them in a couple of days. Smaller spots are usually mostly gone by the following day. This is great for when you break out the week you’re supposed to be going out on the weekend.

When the spot starts to heal there’s no scabbing or dryness which is always beneficial. It means that even as I try to clear the spot, I can cover it easily too because it’s a smooth base still.

Fitting into My Skincare Routine

Need some proof of it working? Check out my skincare diaries where I used it on a painful under the skin spot and it was gone in 3-4 days!

Would I Re-Purchase?

Definitely! For the price as well, Sukin Blemish Control Spot Banishing Gel is going to be my go-to treatment for a while I think.

  1. This sounds great, especially clearing smaller ones in as little as a day. Unfortunately my skin doesn’t react well to eucalyptus or lavender so this probably isn’t one for me but I’m glad it’s working so well for you. Love a little mini miracle product like this x
